School accommodating 650 students across 41 classrooms in Auburn

Willow Crest Elementary School is Auburn School District’s newest grade school and currently serves as an interim site for Lea Hill Elementary during its reconstruction in the 2021-2022 school year. The 73,000 SF school accommodates 650 students and includes 41 classrooms, an administration area, a full-service kitchen, a gymnasium, a library, and other support areas. AHBL provided civil engineering services for the new playground, student drop-off and pick-up areas, bus loading zones, parking areas, delivery access, space for six portable classrooms, new water mains, stormwater infrastructure, a reinforced concrete retaining wall, and roadway frontage improvements. As the primary point of contact for the site development permit process, AHBL facilitated discussions between the design team and City of Auburn Development Engineering and provided final civil design in collaboration with Absher Construction and BLRB. Additionally, AHBL conducted topographic and boundary surveys of the 16-acre school site and adjoining roadways, detailing utilities, buildings, elevations, and all other improvements within the survey area.
