Voter-approved bond-funded upgrades to increase capacity and improve access

In 2019 voters approved a $198.55M bond measure to build new schools and to upgrade Kopachuck Middle School to increase capacity and improve access. AHBL provided land use planning, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services to support building modernization improvements.

Civil services provided plans for, and permitted, site improvements to support the building modernization. The site improvements included, grading and paving improvements and updates to the site storm drainage.  Land use planning services were provided to include completion of a feasibility study, facilitation of the land use approval process, and completion of the SEPA environmental review requirements. Landscape architecture services included site analysis with review of deficiencies and preventative maintenance costs; evaluation of accessibility; pedestrian, staff, visitor, and bus site circulation; and right-of-way improvements.
