Celebrating community and tribal heritage through sustainable, mass‑timber design

The Nisqually Elders Center includes the design of a new 24,500 SF two-story community gathering building that provides the tribe with spaces for fitness, dining, crafts, offices, and classrooms/conference rooms. The property includes a timber entry canopy, 3,700 SF second floor storage, and mechanical room space. AHBL provided structural engineering services for the project that is wood framed, incorporating Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) roof panels at the high-vaulted roof and entry porte cochere, with expressed heavy timber construction.
