Land surveying services for sustainable food processing facility in Moses Lake
AHBL provided comprehensive land surveying services for Simplot’s new 14 story, high-bay freezer and cold storage food processing plant in Moses Lake, WA. Surveying services included control, wetland, boundary, easement, and topographic surveys to produce detailed base mapping for the 420,000 SF facility. Final mapping captured utilities, elevations, contours, existing easements, and underlying property lines. AHBL also supported site development by adjusting lot lines and rerouting easements to accommodate the plant layout.
During construction, AHBL delivered extensive staking services for control points, grading, building layout, rammed aggregate piers, utilities, rail spurs, pavement, hardscape, and striping. The team also completed as built surveys for stormwater and sanitary systems, water and electrical infrastructure, and related site components. Throughout the project, AHBL coordinated closely with Fisher Construction and Knutzen Engineering to maintain design continuity and support efficient delivery. The plant primarily processes over 700M pounds of locally grown potatoes each year. This facility features sustainable systems including the ability to fully recycle water into reusable water and uses digesters to convert waste into biogas to power the facility.
