In 2019 voters approved a $198.55 million bond measure to build new schools and to upgrade Key Peninsula Middle School (KPMS) to increase capacity and improve access to school. The multi-phased modernization and reconfiguration of KPMS transformed the 1981 building into a like-new facility, with students remaining on-site for the duration. AHBL provided land use planning, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services for KPMS.
Land use planning services were provided to include facilitation of the land use approval process, and completion of the SEPA environmental review requirements. Civil engineering services provided include demolition and erosion control, paving, site grading, and stormwater plans. Landscape architecture services included schematic design and development for planting and irrigation, and hardscape such as benches, bike racks, and concrete seat walls.
