Heavy timber and canopy structures anchoring a new retail hub

AHBL provided structural engineering for a new retail development featuring a 6,500 SF convenience store with a timber-framed entry canopy, a 5,000 SF heavy timber fuel island canopy, a 900 SF coffee shop with drive-thru, and an automated car wash with support spaces. Smaller canopies for express tobacco sales were also integrated into the site. Our team collaborated closely with architects and specialty consultants to unify multiple structures into a cohesive design. Structural solutions balanced durability and aesthetics across diverse building types and canopy systems, supporting an efficient design and permitting process. The result is a functional, visually appealing retail destination that enhances community access to retail services.
