Thoughtful Park Improvements for People and Pets
AHBL provided civil engineering and landscape architecture to improve and expand portions of the existing dog park located west of downtown Spokane. The existing park was configured with 8.65 acres – eight acres for large dogs and .65-acre for small dogs. The park included two picnic shelters, drinking water, fencing, and an unimproved parking lot. AHBL recommended building steps and concrete pads through the entry, removing berm to allow pedestrian access, enhancing the parking with striping and signage for ADA parking, removing trees and pruning, adding mulch surfacing to the dog park, and adding secure fencing.
