AHBL is assisting the City of Edgewood with a periodic update to its Comprehensive Plan. This update presents an opportunity to refresh the vision, goals, and policies to address current conditions and anticipate housing needs for the next two decades, from 2024 to 2044. The Comprehensive Plan serves as a foundational document that guides growth and development while considering impacts on the built and natural environments and public facilities. AHBL is leading the effort on behalf of the City, with a public engagement strategy that ensures input and participation shape the Comprehensive Plan update. Our final document will compile all required elements into a single plan, adding or combining elements as needed while maintaining flexibility to allow for future actions that may arise. AHBL also managed the SEPA Environmental Review process, including preparing the SEPA Checklist and coordinating with the Department of Commerce. We are presenting updates to the public, policymakers, and advisory groups such as the Planning Commission, Economic Development Advisory Board, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and City Council. As part of the process, the AHBL team will identify any necessary code updates resulting from the Comprehensive Plan update and assist City staff with prioritizing these updates for smooth implementation.
