Integrated LID and site improvements for Kellogg Middle School

AHBL’s civil engineering and landscape architecture teams provided design and construction phase services for the 105,888 SF Kellogg Middle School project. One goal of this project was to enhance the overall quality of the stormwater exiting the site and entering the Thorton Creek watershed through bioretention cells (Silva Cells) in the interior courtyard of the school that were integrated into the paving and pedestrian areas. In addition to LID design throughout the site, the project included street improvements including street widening, streetscape accessibility design, stormwater infrastructure expansion, and off-site water main utility infrastructure.
