Trail Design Supporting Connectivity and Accessibility

The Susie Stephens Trail project is an important community project honoring Susie Stephens, a biking and pedestrian advocate from Spokane who was killed in a crosswalk accident in 2002. The trail comes as a result of a Draft Trail Alignment Exhibit prepared by City of Spokane Parks and includes elements which were selected by the Parks board with extensive community input. The trail connects the Fish Lake Trail to Finch Arboretum via 13th and Rosamond Avenues. AHBL provided landscape architecture services and managed all design related to the off-street portions of the trail, as well as developing construction documents, a probable opinion of cost, and agency review assistance. AHBL also assisted in the bidding of the project.
