Our civil engineering and landscape architecture teams were tasked with designing a site that was pedestrian-friendly, provided traffic calming along a busy thoroughfare, and integrated the addition's site design into the existing Libby Center.
"The Hive" features four studio "makerspaces," three training rooms, and a virtual learning and teacher-training area complete with a podcasting studio, conference space, and offices. We're proud to have played a role in creating a space that promotes creativity, learning, and collaboration.
This project was a real team effort, with collaboration between Spokane Public Library and Spokane Public Schools and funded by SPS's 2018 bond. We're grateful to have been a part of such an important project and can't wait to see what the community creates in "The Hive at Libby Center."
