City of Auburn builds new path for environmental preservation and education.

The City of Auburn hired AHBL to design and develop a 1,120 foot long elevated boardwalk in the Auburn Environmental Park. A space for wetland ecosystem restoration, fish and wildlife enhancement, public education and recreation, the boardwalk winds its way through sensitive wetland area, posing a unique challenge for the design team. Our landscape architects and structural engineers worked together to design the boardwalk and viewpoints with pin foundations to reduce the impact on the wetland. The ADA accessible path connects visitors to an existing bird observatory with benches and picnic tables, interpretive signs, and native landscaping along the way.
