The new Bowman Elementary School, a $46.7M project featuring 38 classrooms for 650 students across 74,413 SF, opened in 2020. AHBL provided civil, survey, and structural design services for the school, situated on a 22-acre site in Auburn, with 16 buildable acres. Phase 1 involved site clearing, demolition, construction of the school building, and addressing challenges such as moisture-sensitive soils and public water main extension across private property. Phase 2 focused on off-site road improvements on Kersey Way SE, requiring coordination with multiple jurisdictions for permitting and construction. AHBL's responsibilities included civil design for roadways, storm drainage, water quality improvements, intersection and ADA ramp designs, and overall site infrastructure.
