Landscape Architecture
AHBL provided extensive landscape architecture services for the renovation of Highline High School. Landscape site development included site access, parking, internal vehicular circulation, plazas, pathways, lawn and planting areas, landscape-based stormwater treatment areas, and street frontage improvements. Key goals were creating accessible pathways, dynamic entry and gathering spaces, informal recreation and dining areas, three outdoor learning areas, aesthetic appeal with diverse materials, ample parking, strong community connections, and sustainable stormwater solutions. Notable features include a central entry plaza with bike parking and seating, an ornamental raingarden, and a demonstration garden showcasing ecological succession stages. These elements aim to enhance the educational environment and provide additional teaching opportunities.
