Integrated Design for a Facility within a Nationally Recognized Landscape

The Chambers Bay Golf Course Turnstand project involved replacing an existing facility with a new 2,650 SF, one‑story structure within Pierce County Parks’ nationally recognized Chambers Bay Golf Course. AHBL supported early predesign efforts to evaluate site feasibility and help guide building siting and design within the sensitive coastal landscape. The team then provided full civil and structural engineering services through design, permitting, bidding, and construction.

Civil work included stormwater management, utility coordination, paving and circulation improvements, and erosion control, all integrated with the surrounding golf course environment. Structural services included design of the light‑framed building, foundations, and retaining walls, along with coordination across the design team and support during construction. Through close collaboration and comprehensive project delivery, AHBL helped deliver a durable, well‑integrated facility that supports daily golf operations while fitting seamlessly into the Chambers Bay setting.
