Master plan transforms former industrial site into conservation campus

AHBL partnered with Integrus Architecture to create the site development master plan for the Spokane Conservation District’s new 50-acre “conservation campus,” transforming a former asphalt plant and quarry into a hub for sustainability and innovation. Phase I delivered a 12,400 SF office and training center with rooftop solar panels, followed by a Phase II 15,000 SF partnership building housing the Washington Small Business Development Center. Phase III repurposed the historic Scale House into the region’s first year-round farmer’s market. AHBL’s civil engineering and landscape architecture team designed the site to honor its natural features, integrating solar analysis, native vegetation, and repurposed materials to preserve its industrial history. This award-winning project reflects AHBL’s commitment to creative, sustainable solutions that strengthen the Spokane community.
