The Evergreen State College Seminar II Building

Olympia, WA

This LEED Gold building is comprised of five four-story buildings totaling 168,000 sf in small clustered learning areas ñ one for each of the four interdisciplinary academic programs - grouped around a courtyard.  The buildings are constructed of reinforced, cast-in-place concrete with post-tensioned floors. Outdoor walkways, stairs, and bridges are interconnected, forming a system of walls around the common courtyard. A vegetated/green roof was installed to reduce the flow of stormwater from the site.

Martens-Chan Consulting Engineering provided structural engineering services for this $43.5M project.

*AHBL and Martens-Chan merged in June 2005.

Awarded the 2005 AIA/COTE Green Project Award by the American Institute of Architects (AIA)
