Two Projects Win A4LE Awards
In May, the Washington State Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments honored two projects AHBL worked on with awards.
The design team for the Tacoma Public Schools’ McCarver Elementary School was awarded the People’s Choice Award. AHBL provided civil engineering and land surveying for the modernization of the historic school. Originally built in 1924, the school was modernized to provide community space and serve 450 students. Because of its historical significance, the project included permitting and approval from the City’s historic preservation office.
The design team for the Bates Technical College Advanced Technology Center was given the Merit Award. AHBL provided civil and structural engineering and land surveying on the design of a 2-story 53,000 SF addition to the technology center. The project was targeted for LEED Gold.
We’re proud that we had the opportunity to contribute to these impressive projects and partner with other talented firms.
