NAIOP's Community Enhancement Project - Northwest Center Kids
AHBL volunteers to design outdoor natural play area
On a recent beautiful autumn day, AHBL family and friends had the opportunity to participate in NAIOP's Community Enhancement project benefiting the Northwest Center for Kids in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood. It was a spectacular transformation from a weedy, overgrown play area to a beautiful space that will be safe for children of all ages to enjoy.
AHBL staff, along with hundreds of other volunteers, pulled weeds, painted, stained and planted new plants. The new play area now has raised planting beds to dig in, beautiful textured plantings to explore, bermed lawns for walking and rolling, and a sense of a well-cared for space. We left that day dirty and exhausted, but filled with joy at the difference we and 350 other members of the NAIOP community were able to make.
