Doreen Gavin Named as President

AHBL, Inc. has named Doreen Gavin, PE, LEED AP as president. As an equity principal for the past 15 years, Gavin will continue leading the firm in partnership with AHBL's other equity principal vice presidents: John Becker, PLS; Dan Booth, PE, SE; Sean Comfort, PE; Doug Tapp, PE; and Matt Weber, PE.

Gavin specializes in projects for public clients including school districts, community colleges, municipalities, and the military. Because of her keen interest in low impact development and green building, Gavin helped position AHBL as an expert in sustainable design. She is currently working on Destination Point Defiance for Metro Parks Tacoma and the Washington Elementary Modernization for Tacoma Public Schools.

"Our success has never been based on one person," said Gavin. "It's based on the diversity of public and private clients we serve and the contributions from our 80-member AHBL family who is committed to improving our communities through thoughtful design."

Founded in 1969, AHBL provides civil engineering, structural engineering, landscape architecture, planning, and surveying services to public and private clients from offices in Tacoma, Seattle, Spokane, and Tri-Cities.
