UW Seattle Parrington Hall
AHBL supported the renovation of Parrington Hall, a $19M progressive design‑build project with Absher + Integrus involving 56,000 SF of interior upgrades within the historic four‑story, 1902 building—one of the oldest on the UW campus and protected as a Landmarked structure. The renovation reconfigured interior spaces to meet the Evans School of Public Policy’s needs for flexible learning environments, modern offices, and updated building systems, while preserving the exterior.
AHBL’s civil engineering work included upgrades to existing utility infrastructure to support a new café, as well as assessment and revisions to accessible parking and pedestrian routes to meet UW accessibility standards. Existing asphalt pathways were replaced with concrete, and although the site improvements fell below thresholds for flow control and water quality treatment, on‑site bioretention was incorporated to meet permitting requirements for replaced impervious areas.
