Rapid structural design supporting tribal healthcare resilience

In 2020, the Confederated Tribe of the Chehalis Reservation utilized a CDC grant to design and construct a 3,500 SF healthcare isolation wing integrated into its existing clinic to meet COVID-19 response requirements. AHBL provided structural engineering services, delivering a resourceful approach that optimized constructability and material availability, including concrete masonry unit walls and steel wide-flange roof beams. The project progressed on an accelerated schedule, with design starting in August 2020, construction documents completed by mid-September, and final completion in February 2021.
